What is Colonoscopy?
Colonoscopy is an endoscopic procedure in which a thin, flexible camera (colonoscope) is guided through the entire large bowel (colon) and rectum. It provides direct visual assessment of the colon lining, allows biopsy of abnormal tissue, and enables therapeutic procedures including polyp removal. Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colon cancer screening and diagnosis of bowel disease.

- IBS investigation and ruling out serious pathology
- Unexplained abdominal pain or weight loss
- Surveillance after previous colon polyps
- Family history of colon cancer
- Inflammatory bowel disease assessment
